Hello, author and reader friends!
As you may have noticed, our website has gone through some changes. About time! Our founding editor, Cara Flannery, has a brother who dabbles in web design, and he offered to give us a hand. If you like what you see here, give him a holler—he's your guy!
Shoot him an email → firstname.lastname@example.org
He's new in Twitter Town; say hi! @pbrouse34
Oh, he has an Instagram too: pbrouse_dev.
Along with a new website, we’ve also had some other recent changes—we have new faces, new services, a new blog, and new books!
Our inbox has been blowing up with requests for copyediting and line editing services, and business has been booming. Sweet! We love reading and helping out with your stories, and we want to take them all on. However, we had to admit the truth: one editor can’t keep up with this alone. So, we’re mentoring an intern, and maybe eventually two! We will now have an extra set of eyes on editing projects; this means even better quality work for you. Our founding editor, Cara Flannery, will still review each project, but it will save a lot of time and allow her to dive deeper into your manuscripts. We’ve been super impressed with our intern’s work, and we hope you will be, too! Our intern, Matthew, is a senior in high school, and hopes to go into editing and publishing work after college, so this internship has been right up his alley. Don't let his age fool you; his knowledge and skills are well beyond his years! Check out his first review:
We are now offering ghostwriting and revision/rewriting services services! If you have an awesome idea for a story but life is in the way, our co-founder and in-house ghostwriter, Dylan Flannery, has got you covered. He can polish your current manuscript until it shines, or he can turn your premise/outline into a riveting tale. Heck, he can even write something from scratch when his schedule allows for it.
We've decided to complete overhaul our blog. We’re still trying to figure out where to go with it, but we’ll definitely update it monthly (or bi-monthly…) at a minimum. Down the road, we want to hand it over to our intern(s) to re-envision it.
If any visitors or readers have suggestions, we’d love to hear your ideas!

Hold onto your britches (or trousers, for our UK friends); we have three new books coming your way!
Our pal from Canada, Marc Watson, is once again partnering with us for the re-release of his fantasy duology, Catching Hell: Part 1 and 2. The series was originally released by Double Dragon eBooks, who have since closed up shop. Dylan and Cara have always loved Marc's voice and style of storytelling, so we just had to snatch them up! We’re pretty stoked about it. It’s coming to a publishing house near you (that’s us!) in early 2021.
Back in 2017 (three years ago!?), we released Marc's novel Death Dresses Poorly. It’s an urban fantasy, and we loved the characters and the voice (very “smart ass” and full of dark humor). Marc is also publishing a book of his short stories in the near future, so you can look forward to those!
But, Marc's not the only one who has been busy!
By the end of 2020, we hope to release (In)valid Circumstances: A Collection of Dark Tales and Oddities by Howard Hachey. A few stories will feel familiar to our frequent readers (thank you all so much!), but there will be plenty of new ones in there, too.
That's all, folks!
Those are the big pieces at the moment! We'll be back with more updates soon. As always, thank you so much for all of your support over the years. Back when we started Fluky Fiction, we had never dreamed of getting to this point, and it's all thanks to the authors and readers who have been supporting us from day one. Thank you so much from the bottom of our hearts.
Love you all!
